What is paddle?
Platform Tennis, also called paddle is a cross between tennis and squash. It’s played inside a 12-foot-high wire fence allowing the ball to bounce off the screens and remain in play. Courts can be heated from below to melt snow and ice, allowing play all winter.
What does NPTC membership include?
NPTC currently has three paddle courts (soon to be four). There is a warming hut with a large screen TV, table, benches, and a couch for relaxing before/after matches and for social events. There is also an outside deck with seating, gas grill, and propane heaters for socializing. Thanks to lighted courts, members can reserve play 7 days a week from 8am-10:30pm, September 15 to April 30.
Our biggest asset here at NPTC are our fabulous members. We have a very active paddle community and our terrific pro, Carel Pretorius, is available for clinics and lessons.
